Each piece has its own case – and where it belongs afterward
When a SUÐR package arrives, unpacking it is part of the experience. With the Backpieces, every bag and hangtag carries its own specific motif: 0701 in a red flash, 0702 in violet, 0703 in gold. With BLACKOUT, the emblem is included on the label and hangtag. This is no coincidence; it is by design.
Why every collection gets its own packaging
A design doesn't end at the hem. A hangtag, a bag, or a small card continues the story that begins on the front and back of the garment. That is why we design the packaging to match the collection whenever possible—with the same motif, the same colors, the same attitude.
That isn't always possible. Some pieces come to you directly from the finishing process, and they don't have custom packaging for every collection. In those cases, you will receive simple packaging. We prefer to be transparent about this rather than making promises that every package cannot keep.

As much as necessary, as little as possible
Packaging has two tasks: it protects the garment on its way to you, and it tells you what you are holding. Anything beyond that is ballast. That is why we try to use only what fulfills one of these two tasks. A bag to protect against dust and moisture, a hangtag with the emblem, a card. That is all a hoodie needs to arrive safely.
Part of the dual system
Anyone shipping packaging to end consumers in Germany must register in the LUCID packaging register and participate in a dual system. This is a legal obligation and, for us, a matter of course. Our packaging is licensed through Der Grüne Punkt (The Green Dot). This means we pay to ensure it can be collected, sorted, and recycled via the yellow bin and paper recycling. But for this to work, we need your help—it all depends on using the right bin at the end.
Where does it go?
- Hangtags, cards, and paper go in the paper recycling.
- Shipping bags and plastic films go in the yellow bin or yellow recycling bag.
- Tape should ideally be removed beforehand so the rest can be separated cleanly.
- In Austria and other countries, the rules of your local municipality apply.
Or don't dispose of them at all: The bags with the motifs are sturdy enough to take a garment with you on your travels or to use for storage in your closet. Many people also keep the hangtag as a small token of which number the piece belongs to.
What we want to improve
Not every piece of packaging is exactly how we want it to be yet. With every new collection, we look for ways to replace plastic with paper, simplify materials, and omit packaging without the garment suffering for it. That doesn't happen overnight, but we are moving in that direction.
